At DeltaQuad we specialize in the development, design and production of electric long range UAVs for mapping, inspection and surveillance. All our UAV models are designed and manufactured in the Netherlands.

Pioneering since 2012
Our journey started in 2012 when Sander Smeets – Founder and CTO of DeltaQuad – was one of the first to combine vertical take-off and landing with long range airplane capabilities. After extensive research, trial and error the final prototype was airborne in 2015. The next challenge was to create a fully autonomous and industrial grade Fixed Wing VTOL UAV to answer the growing customer demand for higher payload weight and longer flight range. After a period of optimization and extensive testing, we released the DeltaQuad to the market in 2017. Being the first electric Fixed Wing VTOL UAV to cover 100 km with a 1 kg payload in one single flight gave the DeltaQuad a kick-start.
We have been selling the DeltaQuad models worldwide since then, with estimated flight hours far beyond 10.000 hours. Our drones can be found all around the world from the high mountains in Chile to the North Pole and the deserts of the Middle East.
The way forward
We are eager to keep our leading position in practical innovation. Our primary focus is as always on improving performance, ease of use and scope of deployment. We are working on several projects to further improve flight times and payload capacity, on higher wind resistance and integration of new state-of-the-art sensor technology. For me innovation is more than developing new technology. It is also about finding synergy between the challenges our clients face and new but proven technologies available in the market. Our integration skills on hardware and software are a core competence in shortening our time to market. This practical approach makes us versatile and robust in the solutions we deliver.
The success of the DeltaQuad Pro platform is primarily based on the high payload capacity (1,2kg) combined with the prolonged flight time (110 min). Being equipped with a separate quadcopter drive and fixed wing motor, the DeltaQuad Pro is able to lift more weight (quadcopter) and fly more efficient (dedicated fixed wing drive) in comparison to UAVs based on a combined propulsion system for lift and flight. The dual propulsion system also implies a redundant flight system for additional safety.
