DeltaQuad Contributes to Dutch-Finnish Dialogue on Innovation During State Visit

DeltaQuad contributed to the Dutch-Finnish State Visit by demonstrating how its advanced aerial systems support shared priorities in innovation, energy security, and defence cooperation.

On 11 December, the Amsterdam Drone Lab formed part of the official programme of the Finnish State Visit to the Netherlands, highlighting the close relationship between the two countries. They cooperate closely within the European Union. Both are committed to building a strong and resilient economy, supported by secure energy systems and a modern, innovative defence sector. DeltaQuad was one of four companies invited during the State Visit of Finnish President Alexander Stubb to demonstrate how advanced aerial systems are contributing to these shared priorities.

Turning Shared Challenges into Practical Solutions

For the Netherlands and Finland, cooperation is not theoretical. Both countries face similar challenges: maintaining secure energy networks, modernising defence capabilities, and ensuring that new technologies can be trusted in demanding environments. The Amsterdam Drone Lab programme brought these priorities into focus by showing concrete examples of innovation in practice.

DeltaQuad is part of the PIB Finland, and is already actively working together with the Finnish defence industry.

DeltaQuad’s CEO, Sander Smeets, presented the company’s fixed-wing VTOL system to the visiting delegation. He focused on concrete operational scenarios rather than a broad overview, such as long-range inspections of energy infrastructure and the use of autonomous aerial intelligence to support decision-making in complex European security environments. These examples illustrated why both countries prioritise reliable, high-performing technology, and how shared challenges in energy resilience and security create opportunities to learn from each other’s approaches.

Strengthening Partnerships Through Industry and Government Dialogue

Later that day, the DeltaQuad team took part in discussions with Dutch and Finnish companies at the Business Forum, alongside representatives from government ministries and local authorities. The sessions focused on how industrial partnerships, innovation, and shared expertise can strengthen economic and technological resilience in both countries. Participants explored concrete ways to improve supply chains, advance innovation in the energy and defence sectors, and build partnerships that deliver long-term value. The emphasis throughout was on shared opportunities and the benefits of working together.

The Finnish State Visit highlighted that the Netherlands and Finland share similar views on the future of security, energy, and technology. For DeltaQuad, joining these talks offered a meaningful way to contribute to a partnership that is becoming increasingly important across Europe.
